Yoro Model for Sustainable Coffee: A multi-dimensional and multi-scale convergent approach to the challenges of Sustainable Coffee Production in Honduras
Coffee is the most traded tropical agricultural commodity and its production has doubled through intensification and expansion into previously forested areas. This has led to severe socioecological degradation across tropical producing regions. I joined a multidisciplinary team of researchers, engineers, producers, industry partners, and local, municipal and national government agencies to jointly design a sustainable coffee system with the sponsorship of the US Natural Science Foundation NSF.
Please visit the project's website for more information on the overall project, and this link to know about the construction of a systems dynamics model that I co-lead within the large project.
